Q: What do you do at Natech?

I watch over the machines, perform in-process inspections, use the Smartscope and calipers to measure the parts, and check the parts for final inspection.

Q: What’s your favorite part about working at Natech?

I like all the jobs I do and I like working together with my co-workers. I feel very good in Natech. We’re a family.

Q: What skills have you learned here and how has that helped the company?

I have learned a lot. The company has helped me to gain more knowledge. I do my job with enthusiasm and help my co-workers improve their work and knowledge base.

Maria is a key member for third shift’s quality and production department. She provides great support to decision making in the shift. I get worried about the third shift because most of the time, they are alone. They don’t have the same support of the engineering and management department like the other shifts. So, Maria’s decision making is crucial. I know that she will make the best decisions every single night. It’s a pleasure to see her lead with integrity and respect. She has a contagious smile every morning when I greet her.

Q: What is something that most people might not know about you?

Something that people don’t know about me is that from a very young age, after my father died in the Salvadoran War, I started working to help my mother. From the age of 12, I had to study at night and work during the day. I would babysit children, and wash and iron clothes. I feel very happy with what I did at that young age. Until today, I’m still going and helping my mother.

Q: How did you start your career in manufacturing?

I started working at Natech 14 years ago as a machine operator. Later, they gave me the opportunity to be a lead operator and then a quality control inspector. I have learned a lot and I’m grateful to Natech for the opportunity and trust they had in me. I try to do my job as best as possible.

Maria is an excellent, dedicated worker and loves what she does.
